Taking place 23–27 October 2026 at the beautiful Rosemerryn Wood in West Penwith, Cornwall, the residency offers time away from the pressures of everyday making to slow down, listen deeply and explore creative practice in direct conversation with the land.

Across three immersive days we’ll walk ancient paths, gather around the fire, make, write, sing,  draw, build, create performance and ritual, reflect and share. Together we’ll investigate how landscape can shape stories, performance, visual art and creative thinking, discovering what becomes possible when we allow place itself to influence the work.

Whether you’re a theatre maker, writer, musician, visual artist, designer, performer, filmmaker, photographer or simply someone looking to refresh your creative practice, Led by the Land is designed to nurture curiosity, experimentation and meaningful connection.

The residency is led by Mydd Pharo, Mercedes Kemp, Ellie Williams and Vicky Abbott, bringing together decades of experience in landscape theatre, participatory practice, visual art, music and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Participants will stay nestled within the ancient woodland of Rosemerryn, sharing meals, conversations and creative discoveries as part of a small community of people. With plenty of space for individual reflection alongside collective exploration, the residency offers an opportunity to step outside familiar ways of working and rediscover the joy of making alongside others.

A limited number of bursary places are available to help ensure the residency is accessible to a broad range of artists and creative practitioners.

If you’ve been following DAUR’s work exploring myth, landscape, ecology and participation, this residency offers an opportunity to experience many of the ideas that underpin our practice—not as a finished performance, but as a way of seeing, listening and making together in collaboration with the landscape.

We’d love you to join us.
