DAUR is an interdisciplinary arts and theatre company.
We play where it feels risky. We make work that doesn’t behave. We follow curiosity instead of formulas. We trust the unknown. That’s where the real stories live.
We create bold, experimental work that refuses neat categories and predictable outcomes. We believe great art comes from daring not to know. From testing, failing, laughing, and conjuring something we didn’t know we were summoning. From making space for the everyday, the strange, the poetic, the messy and the magical.
Our work moves between forms, in conversation with bodies, sound, image, story, space, technology and the genius loci. Each project finds its own shape through play, experimentation and collaboration.
These ways of working are forged through decades of practice. Over 25 years of making, leading and learning across immersive, interactive and landscape responsive theatre and site-specific, place-based and environmental arts practice. Rooted in Cornwall. Working across the UK and internationally.
We draw on a deep well of shared experience, skills and methods. Not as rules to follow, but as foundations to leap from.
DAUR makes work that wants to move people. Emotionally. Physically. Imaginatively. Work that invites audiences into worlds they didn’t expect and leaves them seeing their own world differently. Not just watching but altered by the encounter.
We experiment so that the final work can be extraordinary. Not refined versions of what already exists, but singular works that feel new in form, language and experience. Work that breaks spells, disrupts formulas, and creates encounters you haven’t quite seen before.
At the heart of everything is radical kindness. We build rooms where artists feel safe enough to take real risks. Where collaboration is genuine, not transactional. Where care isn’t an add-on. It’s the engine.
We’re not here to repeat what already exists. We’re here to invent new forms, new languages, new ways of gathering people through art.
DAUR is experiment, research and development as an artistic practice. And it is also about making work that lands, lives, and lasts. Courage as a methodology. Emotion as a political act.
We make work because the world is complicated, beautiful, messy and hilarious. The work should be all of that too.
DAUR doesn’t aim to fit into the sector. DAUR aims to transform it.
The world isn’t waiting for more of the same… Neither are we.
We’re here to unearth what’s hidden and to create what doesn’t yet exist. To push towards the extraordinary with curiosity and intent.
That means having the courage to experiment, and the discipline to keep questioning and reshaping our own processes.

DAUR grows through exchange — across disciplines, experiences and generations. We invite new voices, fresh ideas and different lived realities into the process, expanding our perspective with intent.
